What a wonderful weekend in Santa Maria! This weekend is my favorite and a
show I had planned to attend even if Rachel had been in whelp. Who can resist
the annual soiree at Chez Cindy and Bev? It was probably meant to be that my
wild child was not in whelp and was shown!
On Saturday, under Judge Kathy Potter, Eclipse's Rachel Carson finally
finished!!! There are so many people to thank. First is Sheryl Brockett who
took
an untamed wild child and gave her focus and predictability in the ring.
Debbie Kaser, her loving hand on the lead through her first major and beyond
meant
the world to me. Bill Tank, that second major let me breath and believe that
she would finish. Jerry Guzman, what his finesse on the lead did for my girl
in beyond description. Bob and Carol Moore, started her career and even gave
her BOS. Rita Sandell that first major and then a fourth place open bitch at
the National, thank you seeing her beauty. Kathy Casteel worked Rachel hard,
not knowing that we would have to change handlers before she got tired.
Finally, Kathy Potter for those last points that made her a champion. I also
think
it is important to add that Sheryl and Debbie co-owned the bred-by bitch in
winners, and put Rachel first in their thoughts and prayers. "Rosie Maroni" is
a beautiful bitch and I am looking forward to her championship. Cindy and
Bev have been in her corner forever. Sharlonna who kept reminding that her
time
would come. There are many more people to thank, and I will do a LOT of that
privately.
The ring side support was amazing. There were so many people that were happy
for the two of us. Thank you for you support and kind words. You have no
idea how much that meant to me.
Rachel is a double BOSS granddaughter. Her daddy is Ch Mar Haven's Elite
Guard (ELI) and her mom was PimaLan's No Regrets. I know that Greta is smiling
from the Rainbow Bridge at her little girl. I did not have her for long, but
the gift she left me in Rachel is beyond words. Thank you Don and Joyce Newsom
for my Greta. She was loved. Thank you Frank and Carolyn Martello for
allowing ELI to live with me. He is a joy. I had picked him as stud dog when
I
planned on breeding Greta, but I had no idea that he would be mine by the time
she was bred.
Congratulations to all the winners this weekend. It was a fun show with
great hospitality.
