I love seeing puppies experience snow for the first time. I've been working all week teaching my three little 8 week olds to come outside under their own power - up the stairs to the dining room and kitchen, through the back door to the wooden decklike porch inside the garage, down those steps then out the door to the back yard. Today they made the trip at a run, barking and yipping with excitement - looking like a lot more than just three pups! When they came out the door to a few inches of snow covering the ground there was a moment of surprised hesitation, then they charged into it with delight! They tore across the yard on their chubby little legs, knocked each other over and dug up the bones and toys in the yard enthusiastically. Every once in awhile they looked at me as if they were very impressed with the great new stuff I put down for them to play with! Now they're back in the puppy room, warm and dry and sound asleep.
