This test, actually SHOULD be done before season. It takes 3 weeks to "grow" this culture, with 3 readings. If it should come back POSSITIVE, on the last reading, then 3 weeks are needed to be allowed for proper antibiotic to be given. When this is done at the beginning of a heat cycle, there is not enough time to grow this out By then, either a breeding has taken place or missed, while waiting for results or not having enough time to give the antibiotic for the necessary duration.
