The way to be sure the subsequent litter from a Herpes infected bitch, is to have her titered for Herpes Virus...If she has a good titer against the virus, draw 20cc of blood. Separate the serum from the cells, and freeze the serum...The serum containes the antibodies against Herpes. When the pups are born, give each one 1cc of the thawed serum by mouth...at birth....This should protect the pups against the Herpes Virus. I have done this successfully.
