I worked for many many years with Akita rescue WE were NOT permitted to take a known bitter or Known Rage Syndrome dog due to liability In Many states, placing such an animal opens the rescue to LAWSUITS and fines etc I cannot fathom a REscue taking a KNOWN problem dog - unless the breeders were not forthcoming. I cannot imagine someone taking such an animal to rescue and putting others at such risk Perhaps we do not have the full story In any event, I would return the AKC papers to the AKC clearly marked DISPOSED OFF, NOT TO BE BRED, or pick the dog up and it to be humanely disposed of. Actually, I would never have taken such an animal to rescue or no kill shelter. I would have handled the problem as detailed by Sally Hoping I never have such a problem. ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2009.
