A bit of history to go with this brag...
Back in 2012 the AKC introduced a new title in herding, called
the Master's title. This is similar to the Master's in agility, or the
RAE,
or the UDX in obedience. Once you achieved a trial title, if you
qualified 8 more times you could earn the Master's title. All such legs
had to be
earned after Jan 1, 2012. The title could be earned at any of the 3 levels
of herding (Started, Intermediate, or Advanced), and on any of the courses
or stocks (ie sheep, ducks or cattle).
So my boy PAM Juno vom Binderhaus: CGC, TC, CDX, RE, HT, HSAsd,
HIAsd, HXAs, HSCs, HICs, HXCsM, BH,TR1, HCT, JHD, HTAD1g, HTAD2sg, HTD1s,
HTD2s, RLF1s, RLF2s,RLF3s, OAJ, AJP, TDI, OFA H&E. (CHIC) Top 10 ATAA Sire
2011 who also happens to be the 2012 GSDCA Herding Victor has been
competing at the Advanced level in C course since Jan 2012. Recently in
March 2013
he completed the requirements for his Advanced C Master's title and I
submitted the 'proof' to the AKC. I had a suspicion that he just might be
the
first male GSD to earn this title, so I called the AKC for the official
word.
The official word from AKC is that Juno is the FIRST dog of ANY
breed to earn their Master's title in Advanced C sheep work!!!
How neat that of all the tending breeds (the ones that
compete in "C" course) it is a GSD who earned the first title!
I'm as pleased as punch!!
