Ed, read the April Legislation article. You will see that ACs or other
organizations that seize animals throw in a lot of allegations that can come
from whole cloth. After exploring 10’s (maybe hundreds in the years that I’ve
been following these), I learned that “the other side” manufactures evidence,
exaggerates and at times outright lies. When they bring the media with them
for a raid, the seizure becomes even more questionable.
When there is a justified seizure (there was one in Maryland just last week),
there is evidence that is incontrovertible and I will donate to the seizing
shelter to help those poor animals heal.
When there is not a just cause, but some rust on a fence, some dirty straw
outside in the winter, a rabies tag misplaced, some nails too long or some
teeth that needs a good raw bone to chew, or some paint needed, then after
carefully looking at the situation, I want to stop those “dirty word” from
doing what they are doing more and more.
There was no just cause to seize those dogs. If there was a problem, then a
inspection report, a complaint filed to correct a problem, and the whole
situation would have been cleared. But after 30 years of excellent inspection
reports, a new AC, one who is involved with GSDs, and an over reaction after a
quick walk through inspection. There was never a vet that checked the dogs, no
dog was out of its kennel during the fairly quick walk through, after which the
AC decided there was a reason to seize the dogs.
The AC vet said at the first hearing that each dog was healthy. There was no
exigent reason to remove the dogs.

should and I usually do NOT donate to causes I know very little about, and
yes I am very aware of lots of cases where government over steps its
boundaries at the cost of individual rights and freedoms, but just like a
pancake, no matter how thin or thick you fry it, it has two sides... Would
