I think that's the part that makes me as an exhibitor at that particular
show the most irritated.
I don't understand the kind of narcissism that is involved to flout the
rules in this manner -- this wasn't a secret -- rumors had been floating for
weeks about that show that this would happen, that the judge had been raked
over the coals because the handler would not being able to show to him.
Well I'm sorry -- the 8 days they are talking about happened in January, and
the entries for the futurity closed in March.
It wasn't a secret that Mr. Root was judging this Futurity in May 2007,
since we all knew in July of 2006 who was judging where. So, unless the
owners of the dogs went totally against what their handler said about where
they were going to show their dogs (possible, but somehow I don't think so),
this wasn't an accident -- I personally couldn't believe he walked into the
ring and I further couldn't believe that the judge didn't excuse him from
the ring.
Now this incident in California and Paul in the hospital -- The GSDCA needs
to make examples of people or there will be problems with the AKC. I've
heard via the grapevine that the AKC is on the hunt(e) for a reason to slap
the GSDCA with a no national -- they've been getting too many complaints
about the GSDCA and how they mishandle things.
