I received an e-mail from the lady with the rescue group that is trying to find him a home and have posted below what she said . This is apparently not the first time this has happened . I am sure that there is someone out there that could give this dog a home, but there is probably not time . He may already be dead by now . Maybe it is best, but sad that he couln't find a home with someone responsible . Please don't shoot the messenger , I am just trying to see if there is a chance out there for this boy . I would not be afraid of him but I am full of dogs that need work right now . There must be someone else out there somewhere that works with difficult dogs . If they "get rid of him" it will not go to court. The people whose dog he injured want him OUT of their neighborhood. He is a wonderful dog that people repetitively continue allowing to be around other dogs. Several months ago he killed a small dog who came into HIS yard. Someone opened his gate and the other dog ran in. He ended up at the vet's ( to be put down ) and the vet's office called me saying he was far to nice of a dog to euthanize. He was not an SPA dog, but we paid to board him at another vet's office. Then, a family took him home from the vet's office (they knew the vet) and allowed a small dog into their home (their daughter's dog). There were bad results, again. Then, they put him outside in their 3 1/2 foot fenced in yard. A neighbor lady had her small foo foo dog outside and he attacked him. The dog lived after receiving stitches. When the police came, they told the current owner to take him home, as Coda was playing ball on the corner by the time the police arrived and before the owner even knew there was a problem (he was inside his home and wasn't watching Coda). Coda can not be around other dogs, ever. Period. NO one will ever be able to MAKE him be around other dogs successfully. He loves people and would be perfect for anyone who is intelligent enough to understand that CODA DOES NOT LIKE OTHER ANIMALS, therefore, HE CAN NOT BE AROUND OTHER ANIMALS. Again, he is fine with people. He loves people. He does not like other animals. I have said this again and again so that you understand, he'd be perfect if placed with someone who has the wherewithal to not EVER allow him around other animals. A 5' or 6' fenced in yard would be great, and a secure gate that someone is responsible enough to not allow to be opened from the outside, so another dog doesn't come into his yard. He is very intelligent and fully vetted.
