A friend was told by his vet that his male shep was dysplastic. It was so
bad, the vet said, that he needed surgery. Another opinion...same diagnosis.
They sent him to a very good orthopedic vet, who looked at him, the way he
walked, etc , and said he thought the dog had another problem, much more
urgent.
He had a torn ACL, for which he would definately need surgery. The
orthopedist said they would address the hips later. The owner wanted the hips x
rayed
for OFA...the vet did not understand why, since the dog was neutered.. Owner
said, just wanted another opinion! The ORTHOPEDIC vet agreed after x raying
that the hips were awful. Owner sent them in and got an OFA good. . (Seems
when
3 vets say they are good, the OFA will not pass!.) Go figure Syd
