And if all the photographers that show GSDs take along their cameras to provide
pictures of what we see as a bad approach to a dog inside the ring it would
help. One good picture is worth a thousand words.

I am now seeing more and more all breed judges using the recommend "loose lead"
exam. The AKC does ask all breed judges of all the breeds to follow the
recommendations of that Breeds Parent Club. Perhaps an article needs to be
written and request AKC to publish the article. One frequently reads articles
from various breed clubs in which judges are asked to adhere to certain aspects
of a written standard. For example the PGVB Parent Club recently requested that
judges not reward dogs of this breed that were overly groomed (meaning altering
the coat) from the natural rugged look. Also there are a number of all breed
magazines that might publish a well written article on this subject. Just a
thought.
