You know, I don't think I will ever be much of a breeder. I don't like having
bitches around at all. I prefer my males. The longest I have had a girl here
was
six months, then I sold her. It will be interesting to see how long I keep this
girl here.

Agreed. I think the problem is people look for a bitch to breed instead of
looking for a bicth to show and learn, and then maybe possibly breed later.
The
reality is my first bitch, I showed for fun, and NEVER bred since she was not
what I wanted for showing even though I did OFA her, and considered it but when
it came down to it I felt she was not what I wanted, and to me if I could not
finish her why breed her. I needed to learn more and I did. Even my second
bitch I got to show for fun, and had no intentions of breeding at first, but
after buying another "show" bitch who did not turn out, and having success with
showing with my second bitch, I felt I learned enough to try to breed to get
what I felt I wanted as a breeder and bred her, finished her Champion, and she
later earned her ROM in two breedings, and produced a R/Best in Futurity Ch as
well. But at no time did I look for a bitch for "breeding", I looked for a
bitch to show and learn on, and I did, and only AFTER I learned did I decide to
try to breed, and continue to learn, and breed only to continue my line.
