As I understand it, it is exclusion. It excludes anyone who is not a member
of the GSDCA. I prefer an open List that might encourage others to join our
club, if they are not members. But, some people think discussing club
business in public is bad for the club.
It seems to me that if what we discuss can't be said in public, we shouldn't
be saying it. Anything you write, no matter where, is going to be public
anyway. I know many people who are not List members that read List posts,
almost
as fast as they are posted, from friends who keep them informed. Rules are
great, but seldom enforced.
There have been many Lists started, that then fold. It takes a lot of
work, and often depends on the subject. It is all I can do to read one List,
but
I know there are people on three or four.
It is an individual thing, and the Parent Club has a private section, but
does not allow for discussions on it. I am in favor of anything people enjoy,
so
let's see what the new List offers.
