As I recall, the pending law suit named two people who I hear are running
again for the board. I think they caused the litigation, not the person
who is trying to protect her rights. While they were on the board, we were
sued, and threatened to be sued by another for what they did.
I have made it clear to a number of people who have asked, that I will not
sue a board member, the club, the AKC or another GSDCA club member. That is
my choice and as an attorney I chose not to sue those I respect and
admire. I will send a letter, or help resolve a problem, but for me, I don't
want
to litigate with friends.
I do represent a lot of the GSDCA club members. I have no problem there,
but if they want to sue someone in the club, I send them to someone else.
But, being a board member, or a club member does not allow for any "free
zone" on behavior. You remain subject to the rules and the laws, and if you
follow them, there should be no problem.
I won't name those running for the board, that is not my job, and I have
respect for anyone who is willing to take on that job. But, I would hope
everyone would think carefully about their vote. It is not the person who
brings a law suit that should shoulder all of the blame, it very well can be
the
person who forced the plaintiff to bring the action. I have tried many
times to settle complaints, most of the time I can. But, remember, litigation
is never pleasant or easy. It costs money, time and energy. No one brings
a law suit just for the fun of it.
Except me of course, but for me, I do it for the money. Tedi likes that.
