Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Need some help
I have a couple whose son is in college in Phoenix.
He was born with no sense of taste or smell. They think he should have a
service dog that can be trained to detect the smell of natural gas. Evidently
their son is an honor student, and very athletic but has this disability.
My first thought was a German shepherd, as it is always my first idea. I need
to know where the dog could get that training, and how to find one probably a
year and a half to two years old.
I think any one of our dogs could be trained, but I don't know where to turn. I
am asking for suggestions.
