Oh absolutely. I think they open the door for education as well. Case in
point; I got involved w/ a school tax review board. Most of the participants
had some very negative opinions when they first started, but once they aired
them and were provided with data that refuted the basis for their opinions, in
more than a few cases, their "opinions" changed. It was a "Oh, I see",
"what can we do to improve the situation" moment. Very productive.
It's when someone has an opinion (negative OR positive) and either doesn't
know the facts, couldn't care less about the facts or even worse, "spins" the
facts that they're basing their opinion on that I want to bang my head
against the wall lol:)
