Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] National Judging and Time Frame
Yes the National judging is long as it should be. Something to ponder.
How long does it take to get your dog in condition, how long does it take
to get that coat looking perfect? How long have you waited to get the
opportunity to be able to present your dog at the National? And how long of
a drive or flight to get to destination? And how long will you keep
thinking about that exciting experience?
Now does anyone really want one quick look at their dog and have it excused
because there wasn't enough time to really evaluate them. Think NOT.

I was going to post something concerning this topic on its own, but Arlene's
post is an excellent one to make start from.
I really want to thank all 3 judges for their stamina in judging animals at
this years show.
There is a lot of work and effort put into getting dogs ready to for the
"big show" and to be too quickly cut is an absolute shame and insult to the
dogs, owners and breed. The 3 judges this year did not shame our breed by
disregarding animals too quickly.
I may or may not agree with all of the animals kept by our judges, but IMO,
none of them had a lack of stamina. That is a good thing.
I actually learned from watching Ed judge... a couple of bitches that I may
have disregarded, would have been disregarded too early, because at the end
they looked better than they did when they went in.
