I use both a "guillotene " clipper verrrrry carefully, and a dremel to
finish the nail, taking the sharp edges off. Also "skittish" dogs seem to
tolerate a dremel better than clippers.
I use a regular plug in dremel type, found at Costco etc. I tried the
battery type, but with as many dogs as I groom I was forever charging the
battery. It also didn't have the power to get through really tough nails
efficently. The one I found at Costco came in a big plastic case, with
lots of attachements, although I only need mostly the disposable sanding
heads...it is xint quality, and I paid about 30 .00 for it. It has a wheel
in the handle to adjust speed on the fly. I really like it a lot.
