[ SHOWGSD-L ] Miami shows, afterthoughts

Well, all my planning and all my scheming could not have prepared for what 
really happened.
My Meet the Champions was curtailed by the need to bring dogs for the ring, 
however, I had Ch Jogra's Sgt Pepper to work with.  He was fabulous!!!!  He 
greeted and meeted all who asked.  We had an entire kid's birthday party stop 
by, and more visitors than I remember in years past.  Sarge was ready, with me, 
so Joey and Kathy could worry about their entries.

We had many people come with real interest in showing.  One of our guests 
became an exhibitor because he took a co ownership on a puppy that was entered 
over the evening Saturday.  His son shows the puppy to 2nd on their first time 
in the ring together.  The puppy bonded instantly to the family.  I know all 
who are involved with this lovely girl are glad she has a great home, will be 
shown to finishing, and our club has a new member!!!

We had another visitor who says he will not show but wants to be part of a 
club.  I can use the help!!!!

We had other visitors who are long gone from the ring, but wanted to stop by. 
Someone who shows a lot in Europe, with their dog, to watch.

We crowned a new champion, put majors on 2 other deserving dogs, and generally 
had a great time.

The ribs, as promised, were beyond outstanding, ask Bart!!!!  Coffee and donuts 
for Sunday morning to get us going fast.

My goals for this weekend were exceeded in so many way I have not the words.  I 
fear I will start crying tears of joy for the shows, the fancy, the handlers, 
the judges, the exhibitors, and myself.

There is still much work to do, but these shows were in many ways the best I 
have secretaried yet!!!

Just keep an eye on my posts, I have even more planned for the fancy!!!!

Next Saturday, Dog walk for the Humane Society of Greater Miami.  There will be 
GSD's on the march......
