As I have often said, one of my favorite times at a National is the Friday
night before the Special's class on Saturday when all the dogs come in the
ring to get used to it, and the owners stand around. I get to see what I
want without any showboating or even grooming.
In 2007 I was watching the ring from inside, and in came this one dog,
made about a quarter pass, and I knew it was the next day's Grand Victor.
That was Army.
He was that spectacular.

My recollection is that Army of One was awarded the Grand Victor title in

The 2007 National was in Colorado.
I remember it well as our GVxCH.Mar Haven's Black Orchid, ROM, PT, OFA won
that year under Dave Rinke...
along with the AWESOME GV.CH. WeLove Du Chein's Army Of One ROM, OFA.
( I still do remember SOME things.......... ) <G>
I do wonder why there are no 'National totals' for 2009....and I DO
wonder why we never go back to Topeka, Kansas
which is literally CENTRAL to the Country...and DID show a profit if that
really IS the reason we stay in St. Louis....??
What is wrong with trying Colorado ( Central to the West ) Topeka, Ka. (
Central ) and THEN St. Louis
( Central to the East ) ..... when all three apparently show some kind
of profit???
You have to admit some of these losses are WAY over the top. We could
"possibly" be overspending and doing something
wrong. I agree with Van Dukeman...... for the size entries we now have
and all the added expenses we seem to suffer....
WHY DON'T we go outside more often???
They do it at the Seiger shows and they have huge crowds. People from
the U.S. that demand climate controlled Nationals
here....fly to Europe to see the Seiger shows all the time KNOWING they
are always outside............??
What REALLY is our problem...??

profits at purinam this is why they stay in stl
That is very interesting. I wonder why the big differences in profit at
Purina from 2014 to 2015, (over $30,000), and what is being done to change
that.
I also was told we showed a profit in Colorado. Where did these figures
come from? What is the current financial standing of the club?

I just did some research on the GSDCA website.
I will list income and losses and where they were.
2015 + 48.253 - Purina
2014 +16,979 - Purina
2013 - 3,827 - NJ
2012 -15,665 - Denver
2011 + 6,478 - Topeka
2010 - 22,604 - Salt Lake
2009 - nothing available for national totals
2008 -29,650 not sure where
2007 + 40,275 not sure where
2006 + 24,584 St Louis (not Purina)
I was not sure where a couple of years were and the financial report for
2009 does not break down the national specialty. All the others do. These
numbers are just for the National specialty - nothing else.
