[ SHOWGSD-L ] MAC OSX worm?

My son, who is more "teckkie" than I am, sent me a couple of warnings.
1) There is a "worm' out there that will attach to IM downloads. Now, I
don't download off of my IM, but for those that do.....just be careful of those
that you do download.
and
2) I don't understand this at all, but it has been found that the ZIP file
that automatically 'unzips' on your desktop, have a glitch somewhere that can
allow those that wish to do this evil thing, to somehow embed a viri in it that
goes into your address book. I have the website link someplace that explains
it better than I did, if you are interested. I just went into my
preferences and unchecked the automatic 'unzip' in both AOL and Safari.
And this is dog related, because if I get a Viri** I will be doggoned
madder than *(%@*.
