The fact that they are meeting in a much larger room tells me that there are
lots and lots of people getting there. Now, they aren't going to sway Mayor
Antonovich (He's Mayor of L.A. County Board of Supervisors, not City) and
nothing will stop Ms. Mayeda from trying to get more money in her budget, but
at
least we can appeal to the other supervisors, and prevail on them to stop this.
This will NOT increase her budget, but make her shelters more full. Then she
will ask for even MORE AC officers and another larger shelter.
The fact that it was a divide and conquer between the Rottie/Bullie owners,
and the loser are all dog owners is another thing to consider. How fast Ms.
Mayeda caved when she saw more control, and the thought of more in her budget.
This at a time when Emergency rooms turn away seriously ill people because of
understaffing and budget cuts. This at a time when Hospitals don't have
beds for those ill people. And further, Social Services are having budget
cuts
annually. The Sheriffs are understaffed and trying to control increasing
crime with lower budgets. Jails are overcrowded and no money to build new
ones.
But Ms. Mayeda found a way to increase HER budget by imposing restriction
on the public, and no way to enforce those restrictions.
Does anybody notice that the proposed "fees" (no mention of the other
restrictive practices) are only available for viewing at a clerk's office?
Makes my stomach hurt.
