My friend Patti, who has been a GSD companion home owner since she was a young teen is now 50 is researching looking for a new puppy female. She just put her 2 1/2 yr old female down to some apparent genetic kidney disorder (per vet) and although nothing personal to the background of the pedigree, wants to stay away from all the lines in that pedigree, as she really had a bad time with this.. she is VERY realistic that crap happens in any bloodline but just understandably wants to start from scratch. the 1st and 2nd generation was just some BYB stuff, but in the 3, 4th is IMO, very nice, and what happened was most likely in that 1st and 2nd and not from the good stuff, but its her potential puppy and up to her :) The style of puppy she wants is not show type, she is not even going near that kennel that breeds old world shepherds, but she likes the style of the OLDER GSD back in the 80's she loves the dogs from CTH on the front page website too. she wants NO rear over angulation, high in the butt is better, no long hocks, she likes tight feet, front and rear, she likes a masculine female look, strong features, but NOT german :) she loves my dogs but she wants that american look! she wants black and tan, bigger versus smaller, certified H & E (knows its not guaranteed to not get it but wants H & D done) good health, she can train a dog better than any pet home i ever met, so strong character, dominant character is no big deal, she has no kids, drive is medium importance, she knows all about instilling leadership and is a very calm person and leads a simple calm life. her dog goes with her everywhere to the mountains and she has one dog at a time, but does dog sit for family. she does not want to breed but will keep the female intact until maturity and no accidents. (early spaying she knows brings forth issues) she will not use a crate, she has trained all of her dogs from the kitchen and doesn't have accidents she works at a huge hospital and can afford to do what it takes to keep any animal alive... she has a fenced in yard. she is not in a hurry can wait until spring but if something catches her eye is mentally ready soon. email me at _wymargsd@xxxxxxxx (mailto:wymargsd@xxxxxxx) if you can.
