Some of you might remember Summer. She took over handling my dogs when I aged
out. She finished Kierk and took him to Select. She also put all the points on
Red Squirel, (her name) and finished her.
Summer is about to graduate and already accepted to college. He dad sent me
this message, and it might be of interest to those who remember Summer.
Last night was the lacrosse banquet; they celebrate the end of the season, say
good bye to seniors and recognize outstanding players, both on the field and
academically. The team finished the season very strong, especially compared to
the last two years. Summer got a couple of awards, a couple of recognitions
and about 6 patches to add to the letterman jacket you got her.
One of the recognitions was for academic achievement. Most lacrosse girls do
very well in school, so the coach called out all the girls who had a GPA of 4.0
and above in the last semester, and he called about 10 on a team roaster of 22,
all with GPAs between 4.0 – 4.20. But he said he was leaving three other
players until the end. Then he called out the next girl with a GPA of 4.60,
the second one with a GPA of 4.67. Then, you should have seen everyone’s jaw
drop when he said: “Summer Khatib….GPA…5.0”
Very cool. Now she wants back to the dog shows. Should we allow it?
