We are looking for a GSDCA member in the Cleveland area that would
volunteer to work with the Centennial Committee as a contact person with the
Cleveland Library regarding the great collection they have there on the GSD,

While on the topic of what to do with old books, etc. I would like to put a
plug in for the Cleveland Public Library and Western Reserve Kennel Club who
has financially supported the dog collection there for many years. Â The
collection was started in the 60's by Maxwell Riddle, who wrote for a local
paper and authored many books. Â Not only do we have all the American Stud
Books and most of the English ones as well, we have a huge collection of
breed specific books on circulation as well as for reference only. Â It has
been estimated that this collection is only surpassed by the Library at AKC.
We continue to add through the club and private donations as well as support
from the library. Â We recently received a wonderful collection of articles
and photos from the estate of Percy Roberts through one of our members
efforts. Â I invite you to go to CPL.org to view the collection and
individual titles and if you are interested in donated to the Collection we
