The lines are lanes, the law says you must stay within the lanes. I always wondered about the back of the school bus where it says, "stop when red lights are flashing." Shouldn't it say, "stop while red lights are flashing?" Why not just stop as it says, then go on? The standard suggests a size, it does not make it a fault to deviate from those guidelines. What it actually says is what the "desired height" is. It may be what those old dead people wrote some 90 years ago, but it isn't binding on me, as I read it. I have my own desires, and often they don't match others. I also stop when the red lights are flashing, then go on. I am a strong advocate of following the law, listening to suggestions, and nodding to desires. Limits are one thing, saying what is desired, that is a whole different world.
