Read my post again Lee, I think you will get my point. Besides, I didn't
have a dog entered under you, hehe.That was not by design, we just didn't
have a bitch to show this year, except our Special of course.

I have come to the conclusion the those judges that get these prestigious
assignments should be interviewed for the position just the same as if they
are being interviewed for a job. Unfortunately (well, maybe not), due to
surgery and a lack of cash, I was unable to attent the US National, so only
know what I read on my computer screen. We do not miss many Nationals and
know only too well the effort, time and money it takes to get a dog ready,
pay handlers and travel to these events.
However, we were at the Canadian National. That was the worst MESS I have
seen in many, many years. I have been told, don't say anything, we don't
want to insult anybody. Well maybe it is time some of these judges were
insulted. In Canada, I watched no mouths being checked, no testicals being
checked and certainly no temperement test. Dozens of dogs racing around the
ring together (a lot of the time with the judge marking has score card and
not even looking at the dogs)
How could anyone possibly see each dog properly or compare one to the other
that way. It was a total disaster and has probably set the GSDCC back 20
years. I talked to a number of people who told me that they would never be
back.
I have no problem with different judges having differences in their
procedures, but this is NUTS.
As others have said, folks go to the Nationals for more than to find out who
won, Hell, we can find out that much sitting at home at the computer. We
want to see all of these animals, some of which we have never seen before.
Some folks are looking for a stud dog, some are looking to buy a dog, some
are just looking. What on earth are the newbys thinking.
Well, that is my rant for the day, I feel so much better.
A big congratulations to my pal Paul,your lucky I couldn't make it, I would
have whooped ya.
