This probably should be repeated over and over. I wrote it to wake up
EVERYBODY, because as you all know, L.A. City spreads like the flu.

Amendments to the City S/N and Breeding Ordinance has been working through
Committees since 7/26/2012. The City Attorney has now reported back to the
Committee regarding the proposed Ordinance. If you live in L.A. City
or
just anyplace, because other cities copy and copy.
There's a lot more in the .pdf, so everybody please read it.
Agility, Obedience Dogs, Herding Dogs, Working Dogs s/n exemptions
dropped.
More restrictions on registry exemptions - more specified details; i.e.,
includes records of transfer and death.
S/N must be done at 4 months, unless there is a vet letter stating
arrangements to be done within 60 days. More requirements on the vets letter
for s/n exemptions.
Impounded dogs requires microchips implanted at owners cost.
Allows administrative hearing (if requested within 10 days) before stray
2nd time impounded dog/cat is s/nd, with the owner paying accrued impound
costs.
Requires new and previous owners information to remain on microchip
information.
A breeding permit holder is subject to inspection by the Department
Subsection (b)(10) provides for an appeal to the Board following the
hearing. It provides for an administrative hearing within 20 days following a
request by the owner. The appeal period requires that it be calendared for
the first available Board meeting following receipt of the appeal. The fees
and costs to be charged to the owner from the time the appeal is received to
the time that the Board decision is served on the owner was reduced to a
maximum of 15 days, unless the owner, in writing, requests the hearing date
to be continued to the next Board meeting and agrees to pay an additional
amount not to exceed 14 days of costs.
