What the heck was he jumping puppies for, and how does stringing up a puppy
TEACH it to jump???? Hanging a puppy in the air, while repeating, cheerfully,
"Swing your legs" would be the way to teach the "Swing" command, but, not the
"Jump" command. JMHO.
I have avoided Koehler's methods all my life; I have never had a high-scoring
dog; I do have well-behaved dogs who would jump through fire & take a bullet
for me.
I LOVE living with them and I do believe that they feel the same way. Go
figure.

When I was breeding dogs Koehler held a training class
in Fontana, Ca. He was known as a NUT and ruined a couple of youngs
dogs the owners took to his classes.
Once he hung a puppy I had sold to a guy because he went around a jump
instead of over it. The guy went and took his dog from the idiot and
went home.
As to digging dogs I had a few through the years
and when we built our exercise areas all we did was pour
cement about a foot deep at the base of the fences as
we learned when dogs dig they dig right at the base of
the fencing. Also we got a bunch of those round steel
reinforcing rods and cut them about a foot and a half long
and pounded them in the ground about a foot apart at any problem areas.
These two things worked great. No way would I ever
waterboard a dog, that is cruel and unnecessary.
Can you imagine the dog knowing his beloved master
would do this to him, trusting you like they do. Unbelievable. Nancy
