[ SHOWGSD-L ] Judging Codes on Show Results

To all of the judges on this list..Recently while viewing results for two
or three different shows, the judging code next to BOB and BOS was BX and
OSX respectively....there were other specials in the breed class two of
which received SEL ratings (I know what that means...grin)...when I looked up
the codes, it stated that BX mean the BOB did not receive a SEL rating and
that OSX meant that the BOS did not receive a Select..Here is my question, if
a judge selects a dog and bitch for BOB and BOS does that not imply that
in that judge's opinion those are the best examples of the breed?...IF SO,
why did they not receive a SEL rating as the Sel ratings were not withheld
evidence that a dog and a bitch in that class went SEL...but yet the BOB and
the BOS did not...Please enlighten...Thanks
