         This issue of a handler showing under a judge he has "worked for" is
quitesimple.  A judge is supposed to know the rules of AKC.  It is not a
requirementthat a handler know the rules. Therefore, it is the judge's
responsibility to informhis handler that he cannot be in the ring.  Recently I
had a handler who showsfor me enter a dog ( another breed) under me expecting
to have his assistanttake the dog in.  He did not know that not only was he
prevented from showingto me, but also anyone in his employ (assistant, groomer,
etc.) or anyone in hishousehold.  In this country, four months covers the rule;
ethics cannot belegislated.                                    Carolyn
