We have input the Committee selects their choices people run by petition and we
(the membership)vote on them how much more input do we need. The petition have
to be signed by 25 VALID Members,

I stated this before but will state again. My Tibetan Spaniel national club
does not allow a judge to judge a national for 7 years after their last
national assignment. For the voting process, all club members are sent a list
of all judges (except provisionals) who are eligible to judge the breed. Each
person voting gets to pick five. Then the top five names are sent out again
and the judge is chosen from that. If the first choice can't do it, they go
down the line until they have someone who can. This year we ended up with
third choice! We try to have it done 2-3 years in advance but due to the lack
of bids for national sites, we can't very ask someone to judge when we don't
know where or when. We always have ours in the early part of the year, but
it's in conjunction with all breed shows in the locality.
I think the members need more input on who they want to judge from the
beginning.
