I received this e-mail from a friend. -- Wondering whether it was legitimate,
I called my own phone Co. and they told me yes it definately is legitimate,
and to go ahead and pass this information on to others, as this scam is
definately "out there".

INTERESTING E-MAIL
I received a phone call from someone last night saying he was an AT&T service
technician, who was conducting a test on the phone lines.
He stated that to complete the test, he needed for me to touch 9 then 0 then
# and then hang up.
I was suspicious and refused.
I then called the phone company and was informed that by pushing 90# you give
the individual on the other end of the line full access to use your phone
line. -- That can enable them to place long distance calls thru your phone
line,
for which you will then be billed.
I was further informed that this scam seems to be originating from local
jails/prisons.
So, be aware of this and don't press 90# for anyone.
