with the resulting BSL directed against our Breed.
For example, when I'm out in public with my dogs, even with the
puppies I am socialising, I invariably see fear and distrust in some
people. And when I have litters available, I usually get at least
one prospective buyer who wants "the meanest one in the litter" to
use for "protection." People who think like this don't get one of my
puppies. I like to remind these people that our Breed is also widely
used as Guide Dogs, Service Dogs, and Search & Rescue Dogs, and I
remind them, that the name German Shepherd means that they were bred
originally for herding sheep. You'd be amazed how many blank looks I
get when I mention this!!!
