[ SHOWGSD-L ] Intact blessings

I am definitely counting my blessings of family, home, furry friends, and job.
We have room in Brighton and one extra dog run if someone wants to be inland as
far as Colorado. Our prayers are with all our southern folks and I'm hoping
that the prediction that Rita hits land at a category 5 doesn't happen...but
I'm glad we're acting as if it will.
On the home scene our 13 month old, Della, seems to believe she's given birth
to a round, plastic squeaky toy. She had her first cycle in mid July and had
no contact with males. She's fussing and anxious and carries it with her
everywhere curling up with it in a chair licking and caring for it. TOTALLY
non typical behavior for this girl. Being girls too, my daughter and I
recognize the hormonal behavior but since this is our first (and maybe last)
intact bitch we've never seen a dog do this. Has she lost it?
