A German shepherd, who is properly built will stand in a stacked position. That is why we set them up. If you have a dog that matches the standard, they will stand that way. I had a dog years ago, (1992) or so, who would stop in a stack every time he stopped moving. I have seen a few these days who do the same. Therefore, the natural stance is with a sloping top-line and should be reflected as such in our standard.
