Now that you mention it Barbara, I agree with you, my male has a very nice
foot, where my female has a not so nice foot, it looks very sloppy to me.
My males foot is nice and tight and looks very pretty, his nails never grow,
and they are short and nice....where as I have to trim her nails every week.

I've got too high of an instep and have trouble finding shoes to fit!
OK, enough about me......I would really like for my girls (my dogs) to
have better feet. The standard calls for feet that are short and
compact with toes well arched, pads thick and firm, and nails that are
short and dark. First of all, I find it very attractive when a dog has
a beautiful foot. It just looks great. Are feet a problem in the breed
today? Also besides it looking nice, is there a reason for the GS dogs
feet to be what the standard calls for? What lines carry good feet?
Obviously, there is so much more to a dog than his feet, but darn it, I
want good ones anyway. Nothing more unattractive than a beautifully
