I recently had an attorney do that to me. We had settled a case for
$7,000,000.00, and they had sent me 23 pages of details. We went back and forth

about a month and he sent me a letter and said, "this is it, take it or leave
it."
I sent him a letter back saying, "We leave it. See you in court." He went
nuts.
What he meant was, "take it or take it." But, if anyone tells you to take
it or leave it, you should always leave it. There is no place in a discussion
for an ultimatum.
I am not addressing the standard as I am sure the board can and will handle
it as they feel best. But, I was struck by the possibility of someone telling
us that, and what I just went through.
They change their attitude, and we reached a settlement. The money was
never the issue, we had agreed on that. It was a bunch of little things, and
the
attorneys were trying to push their own ideas. That didn't work for me.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
