All that time I had wonderful and friendly dialogue with wonderful owners of
white GSDs
always willing to answer questions and share information....and never once had
any rude
conversation on either side with any of us. We still communicate AFTER the
vote.
The actual rudeness came from those on the List accusing us all of "nasty
attitudes"......<
This is an important response. Two of my very favorite women, (excluding Tedi)
are Carolyn and Linda. They both have be passionate about Whites, and while I
don't completely agree, have always respected their right to their opinions. I
also join with them in that if white remains a DQ, then it is outside the
standard. I have a picture of my three favorites on my desk, Carolyn, Tedi and
Jane Kerner. They have a light behind them, and it looks like they have crowns
of light.
Where we disagree is why it is a DQ, but while I remain in this breed, I
respect the standard and will uphold it. Just as I don't agree with some laws,
I respect and uphold them, and then work to change them.
Where we agree is that those who chose to breed Whites are honest passionate
and intelligent people. They too have selected their "breed standard" and work
hard to uphold it.
We need to learn, for 2015, the Serenity Prayer.
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to
change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference".
I may pick and chose what I don't like about it, but it sure does put
everything into perspective. While I am not an alcoholic, and do not play one
on television, I still think those words could work for all of us.

I too fought long and HARD against the white GSD. I love our Breed.... and
love
dogs and cats and animals in general of all colors and types.
I think almost all of us started with a very incorrect German Shepherd
Dog...and then we
learned our Breed Standard and saw the results of the Standard at the shows and
were
forever "hooked." <G> The herding venue will teach you even more about our
herding
breed and gain you more respect for our Breed and our Breed Standard!!!
The very first Board meeting I attended for my first term on the Board I met a
few white
GSD breeders from all ( then three ) groups. Wonderful people with lots of
information and
History of their own white dogs and very strong in what they wanted. Some
wanted
separation and a different name....some separation and the same GSD name...and
some
wanted to remain a part of the Standard. All three groups had very sound
reasons for
their own opinion and sides....very friendly and reasonable people. NO
MONSTERS. <G>
Like Linda, I find those who own and love their white dogs to be absolutely
wonderful and
very friendly caring people who love their dogs with the same passion we all
do.....and a
couple of them continue to send me wonderful photos and even pedigrees and
background
of their white GSD's. I love them! <G>

I will reply because I fought so hard to not change our Standard.
I love all GSD's. I know white GSD owners love the brains and beauty of their
dogs. We all go home and hug our breed; telling those brown eyes they are the
smartest most beautiful dog in the world.
So for the New Year; watch this video I made for ALL GSD lovers. Anyone who
submitted a picture of their white GSD was included. I love the breed first
and foremost. I do not dislike White GSD's and have had wonderful
conversations and dialog with many "listers" who support them. Most of us
agree to disagree; but we know at the end of the day we would do anything and
everything to ensure our dogs are well cared for and loved.
