[ SHOWGSD-L ] How many GV's and selects made their ROM???

that have characteristics needed to improve the German Shepherd in the US=

This is one judges viewpoint about the lively discussion on the List the =
last couple of days about judging and choosing our select animals at the =
National.=20
This is another judges viewpoint concerning this idea (and I quote): "I=
t is not my responsibility to pick and choose attributes which I think wo=
uld be of benefit for the entire breed."
My statement and question is this: Most of these animals that are chosen=
as the "top of the top", the "best of the best" (according to that judge=
on that day) will get more chance to prove their worth as a breeding ani=
mal because now they are chosen as the Grand Victor/Victrix and selects a=
s the cream of the crop of all the dogs across the country. Has anyone d=
one or kept a record of these Grand Victors/Victrix and the Selects to se=
e how many of them, indeed went on to make their ROM's? If not, I think =
it would be a good idea to keep a record of it to see if our top winning =
dogs are our top producing dogs as well. They certainly are afforded the=
opportunity to do so by having acquired their highest titles at the Nati=
onal. I know the Redbook shows us the top producers, but not all of them=
are Grand Victor/Victrix or Selects. Also curious, has their ever been =
a Grand Victor/Victrix who didn't make their ROM? Best wishes, Barbara =
