Karen, I responded to that poster in a private reply. I was once told that the
corn in the dog food turns to sugar in the body and could make the dog
hyper. Just like with the SouthBeach Diet for people. They teach you to stay
away from corn and starches for the same reason. I had a bitch who's
nickname was the psycho bitch from hell. I changed her dog food to a food
with no corn or starches. No change. I gave her herbal calming remedies.
No change. The thing that I think may work is channeling these dogs into
something that takes brains and hopefully some energy. I suggested to Gail
depending on the age of her dog to try herding, obedience, agility or
something to occupy her dogs' mind.
