I must say I agree with this statement. It is very true that the Shiloh
people are VERY adamant about being a SEPERATE breed--they say they ARE NOT
GSD--if you dont believe me-check out their website. THEY HATE US !!!

And Tina Barber is the undisputed DICTATOR of the "breed".
I dont have a problem with us giving the dog some sort of honorary
something--but if this is a true Shiloh--I am sure Tina would have something to
say--negative--about us wanting to honor this dog as a GSD.
I think we should leave this alone--or maybe go in with some of the other
breed clubs or "rare breed" clubs and maybe that way we could honor this
dog--as
a group of dog clubs or something. I certainly agree he deserves to be
honored but it could be a touchy situation. He did a good job of doing what
he
was trained to do and thank God he did find this child. What would we do
without our dogs--perhaps the AR groups should understand this. This dog is
"owned" and "trained" by people and SAVED the life of a human child. Hmmmmmm.
