Well, the hog/dog stuff has been going on here in ol' La. for many moons.
Indeed, just like the dog fighting
and cock fighting, which is till not quite illegal as yet!! it's only been
made illegal in very recent years.
The State Breed, Catahoula, has used for this "sport" a lot. Trivia, the
word Catahoula is Native American
for "glass/light or white eye". It's like you see in some Collies, Aussies
and Shelties. The odd eye is looked
upon, not as a fault, but as an asset in a Catahoula.. Appaloosa horses
have this odd eye as well at times.
Right now the translation for that word escapes me. The hogs they used are
not our every day pigs, but
the big wild boars with tusks that can and DO on many occasions, cause
serious damage to these dogs.
It's bad. Yes, American Bulldogs aka PitBulls are also used for this

I have now heard it all. On CNN tonight they showed dogs are being used to
fight hogs. Guess what breed of dog? People pay a fee and allow their
children to watch as hogs are enclosed in a pen and a dog is let in to fight
the hog. They say they are practicing to teach dogs to hunt ferral hogs.
I am appauled at it all.
