Now I have to chime in on Uzi. <G> We saw UZI at the Futurity here in Northern California for the first time and I was awestruck!!! He was what I had been looking for!! He had everything we felt the Breed ( IMO ) needed at that time. He was MACHO Masculine!! Beautiful perfect coupling to improve all the length we were seeing and had a high wither with a hard back to improve on what WE wanted as a dominant force in our stuff. Also UZI had a powerful thrust to his rear and his outline was everything we look for in a stud....beautiful carriage, stallion arched neck, close to perfection in the picture he presented. He was absolutely awesome. I went up to Joan as we had a bitch ready to be bred and asked her if she minded if we could see UZI close up and get a close look. She was sitting with Gary Staser who handled him that day and she said..... "sure, he's in the crate behind us over there, just let him out". I told her my co breeder had her 17 month old son with us and asked if UZI would be OK around a child that age.. She said sure....he loves kids. He came out of the crate and greeted all of us and nuzzled the 17 month old. We bred to him as soon as the Futurity was over and he bred the bitch the next day also before he left. An efficient stud also. We got 11 beautiful puppies from UZI. ( rumors were that he was "sterile" .....and we all know everything is always the studs fault. ) <G> Every single one had beautiful breed type and nice backs and beautiful rears. We kept one bitch that I loved.....she wasn't necessarily the best but I loved her. We bred her to CH. Hoheneichen's CAISSON because of his gorgeous shoulder and side gait and same powerful driving rear.............and got BOSS. To this day you can see UZI's influence in our best stuff....especially the males. They are high withered, hard backs, beautiful stallion carriage, beautiful coupling, powerful atheletic movers with beautiful co ordinated rear drive. CAISSON had all the above also. with a tad more front extension than you normally see ANYWHERE.......and more length than UZI had. Carolyn marhaven@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.Marhaven.com From: gsd0110@xxxxxxx .net ; showgsd-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx He is in the pedigrees of many of our greats today.... primarily thanks to GV Boss who was out of an Uzi daughter. Gary Lewis Uzi was an awesome dog. He lived a good long life. He was GV twice..He is my Mick's Great Grandfather. I had to really think to figure that one out.
