Laura,
We acquired our Guinea Chicken this way, as she wandered into my brother's
backyard, in the city. The neighbors were afraid of her. Guinea Fowl are
Ugly. But, she is super friendly. She wants to sit on your lap, peck your
toes, and try to come in the house. It was about this time when she showed up
at his back door. We feel she was "LET's Get the kids a Baby Chick for
Easter", kinda thing. THen...oops..the Chicken grew up...oops..it's ugly.
Anyway, that was 5 yrs ago, and "Pack" is still here. She is our Watch-Chicken
as anything new comes into the yard she lets us know before the GSD's do!!

Thanks all who answered. From the responses, I guess he's a normal bird. He
seems comfortable around people and animals and if he wants to stick around, I
guess we'll just enjoy our new pet. It's been an interesting adventure with
critters around here lately. A large flock of wild parrots took up residence
in
my trees for the winter. The peahen has been around for a couple years now and
the Doves came back again. And now, a rooster. It sure is fun living in the
City, LOL!
