Do we need a breeders code that has teeth in it? To say yes, is an 
understatement. We also need a club and officers in the club that will stand 
behind it.  One without the other will not work. The dog world is changing and 
if we don't we lose. Those who think they can hide from it, by refusing to 
admit there is problems or by trying to intimidate those who are trying to 
remedy the problems are going to be the downfall of the breed.  
   The local all breed kennel club I belong to had their show today. Usually it 
draws 2000 dogs or more. Today there was half as many. The economy certainly 
plays a part in this, but one only had to look around to see the rest of the 
story. Most of the exhibitors were middle 40's or later.  How many younger 
people would have been there if they hadn't been put off by the politics of 
showing?  How many younger people would have been there but the show people 
they talked to about a puppy scared them off by unreasonable requirements?  How 
many younger people would have been there but they're disgusted by the purebred 
people who they believe are causing the dog overpopulation problem and so they 
adopted a shelter dog instead? and lastly,  how many younger people would have 
been there but the purebred dog they did buy turned out to have temperament or 
health problems and they never want to repeat that experience again? 
   This is one of the reasons I think its a big mistake to align ourselves with 
the puppy mill people. You're judged by the company you keep and believe me, we

  I support the Breeder's Code and especially Jamie 100% without any hesitation 
or reservation. Foremost this lady is a stand up type of person. Anyone that 
thinks otherwise does not know her. She is very honest, knowledgeable and 
devoted to the breed. And for anyone who thinks that a strong breeders code is 
not needed needs to take the blindfolds off. There are sharks lurking in the 
waters that all they want is your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. They do not care about the 
breed. Join the bandwagon and give her your full support. The breed needs 
persons such as her.
