[ SHOWGSD-L ] Gas Prices and being PICKY!!

Oh yea - I am definately NOT going to many of the shows that in recent years I
had gone to, due to the cost of gas. AND, instead of going to shows where the
judges MIGHT like my dogs, I'm forgoing those shows for the ones where I KNOW
the judges like the type of dog I have. For instance, there are two shows
coming up in Sept. that I normally would consider going to, both about 4-5
hours away. Two weekends of judges (4 shows) and only one judge that I know of
that likes what I have. I am not going to either of these shows, in lieu of a
show that is THREE days long and has three judges who are better suited for my
dogs, AND, is only ONE trip there and back. I think that the three + day
clusters are going to have a better chance of pulling entries than the
"regular" two day weekend shows at this point. More "bang" for the buck is how
I look at it. Anyway, my two cents (or as the case may be, $2.73 per gallon in
South Dakota) worth!
