Two bills of concern to responsible dog breeders and owners will be
considered by the Texas Legislature on Monday, March 16th.
_House Bill 458_

sponsored by Representative David Leibowitz of San Antonio, will
be considered by the House County Affairs Committee in Room E2.016 at 2PM or
upon final adjournment/recess. The bill allows counties with populations of
one million or more to limit the number of dogs kept at residences located in
residential subdivisions in unincorporated areas of those counties. The
American Kennel Club opposes House Bill 458.

_House Bill 1046_

sponsored by Representative Mark Homer of Paris, will be
considered by the House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee in Room
E2.010
at 2PM or upon final adjournment/recess. The bill will give owners involved
in cruelty seizure cases the right of an appeal if the owner posts an appeal
bond to cover the cost of care of the animals. The American Kennel Club
supports House Bill 1046.
