WOW!  I attended a futurity in Vegas in the early 80's.  Gary  Staser was the 
judge.  I stayed with Ron & Linda Whitehead, and so  did Ron Gates.  But a 
number of people were at the big casino hotels, yes  with their dogs.  Several 
friends stayed at the MGM Grand with  dogs.  My puppy was bit by a black widow 
spider with in Ron's kennel and  his the side of his head swelled up like a 
cantaloupe.  See, they  are other criters worse than fire ants.  But we all had 
a great, great  time.  When I asked Ron and Linda what I could send for a 
hostess gift,  they both replied, a box of dirt! :)

There are very few hotels that take dogs.  We stayed at the Super  8.  It was 
ok- but dirty- and not in a great neighborhood.  Not  bad-just not great.  
There is a Motel 6 that takes dogs but I don't  know anyone who stayed there.  
The Microtel took dogs.  The people  that stayed there seemed to like  it."
