I think if we support the spec clubs in the region we live in maybe that will
help with the entrees.we are in charlotte and not many entered at our show like
the atlanta area and many breeders close to our shows.the handlers bringing
dogs in from different states but the breeders in our areas do not help the
clubs with entrees,I know that we say these judge donâ??t like my dog,but
please think about it.if we support the club in our regions we can have a super
entrees with really good dogs.to many breeders in these area are not willing to
support the near by clubs.hope that we think about these,these is my
observerthing,thanks for read about these and think about these for the future
shows coming up in the south east,doris

We must get to the root of the problem in order to resolve the issue,
which, in this situation, is to improve entries and things of that nature.
With all of the people at the futurities who didn't show, may I ask if anyone
asked them why they were not showing? Does anybody know? I was up front
with my own situation, that I do not like to travel as previously, but we
should find out why others are not showing and see what we can do, and to
offer options. What about offering a survey to the membership, gathering the
data, and asking them what would entice them to start showing again? May
I ask if we've already done that, because I can't remember doing so, but

Ideas I have heard form Cappy and Gloria , juniors training camps in the
summer. Handling and grooming. Obviously, it would need to be a little
broader than just 24 hour a day dog training. Other fun stuff included so
they

summer camp.
Not sure who gets the credit for this but a Juniors National in the
summer. Remember guys when we were kids the schools had no problem if we
traveled
with our parents during the school year. They called it real life
education or something like that. Not anymore. So many days missed and they
hold
you back. Most horse breed clubs have gone to a summer show for the youth.
Maybe we could rotate it around the country and tie it into a Fut/Mat.
If we build it they will come. They are the future of our breed. Let us

Atlanta. It was great seeing everyone! But it seemed no one was showing;
they were visiting and having a great time, but not showing. The futurity
was small, and the specialty shows were small. Sure they held majors, but
with 11 or 12 dogs constituting a major these days, that is hardly a big
show. So, where are the entries? I don't think it's the judges, at least
not with me. I don't see the quality out there like the good old days.
Used
to be the first 4 placings in most of the classes were highly competitive
dogs and bitches, but today if there are 2 dogs and/or bitches in the
entire show that are really nice (in my opinion), that is all that you see
these

Naturally I think I am always right but then the next person is just as
sure they are. I wish I had the answers but I don't.
